چکیده

The development of the GIS Decision Support System (DSS) – Drainage Runoff Input of Pesticides in Surface Water based on model algorithms describing the major pathways of pesticide entry into surface waters has been initiated by the German Federal Environmental Agency (Umweltbundesamt, UBA) in 2000. The tool estimates the quantity of pesticide input from non-point sources via surface runoff, tile drainage and spraydrift. Furthermore, the resulting predicted environmental concentration of pesticides in surface waters (PECsw) can be retrieved considering the mean daily inputs of substances into various types of river-basins characterized by their daily discharge. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) was created provide users of the DSS with easy access to the model algorithms. Model parameters like dose rate, DT50, Koc and date of pesticides application et cetera can be modified by the user in order to generate customized scenarios for a choice of field crops, orchards and vineyards. Results are available as grid cell maps for the territory of Germany with high temporal and spatial resolution featuring distinct values PECsw for various types of streams and landscapes.

Estimating river suspended sediment yield using MLP neural network in arid and semi-arid basins Case study: Bar River, Neyshaboor, Iran

Abstract Erosion and sedimentation are the most complicated problems in hydrodynamic which are very important in water-related projects of arid and semi-arid basins. For this reason, the presence of suitable methods for good estimation of suspended sediment load of rivers is very valuable. Solving hydrodynamic equations related to these phenomenons and access to a mathematical-conceptual mode...

A New Hydrological Method for Estimating the River Bed and Drainage Basin Components of Erosion and Suspended Sediment Fluxes in River Basins

This paper uses the results of river suspended sediment flux (SSF) analysis to propose a new hydrological method for quantitatively estimating the river bed and drainage basin (sheet erosion, rill and gully erosion) components of total erosion intensity in river basins. The suggested method is based on the establishment of the functional power connection between mean monthly water discharges (W...

Decision Support System for the Elbe River Water Quality Management

A decision support system (DSS) for integrated river basin management of the German part of the Elbe river basin is currently under development, which involves taking account water quantity, chemical quality and ecological state of surface waters. The Elbe is one of the largest river basins in middle Europe having multiple land and water use demands. A hierarchical approach was developed to mee...

Sensitivity Analysis of MPSIAC Model

MPSIAC is currently known as an appropriate method to measure sediment ofWatershed basins of the country while there has not been any sensitivity analysis so far forthis method. In this study, required data for MPSIAC model were gathered from six basins;Amame-Kamarkhani, Kand-Golandok, Tang Kenesht (from two different references), Nojian(from three different references), Pegahe sorkh katvand (f...
